Costs Lawyer

The role

This role is for a qualified Costs Lawyer or a more junior candidate interested in costs law, within the Niche Costs and Advocacy team. The position involves handling high-value and complex costs matters across commercial and personal injury litigation, supporting legal teams throughout the entire lifecycle of a matter.

What you'll do

• Attend CCMCs and application hearings
• Provide support across all aspects of a claim
• Work closely with legal teams throughout the entire lifecycle of a matter
• Handle initial reserving and cost estimates
• Manage the budgeting process
• Recover or dispute costs
• Draft costs budgets
• Assess bills of costs
• Draft Points of Dispute
• Draft bills of costs
• Draft Replies
• Negotiate settlements
• Draft Schedules of Costs
• Manage a caseload
