Solicitor / Associate - Private Client

The role

The firm is seeking a Solicitor with 2-6 PQE in Private Client to join their Leicester hub in a hybrid role. This position is for an individual who is personable, approachable, and has a genuine interest in assisting individuals and their families with personal wealth, estate planning, and succession matters.

What you'll do

• Undertake fee earning work, working both independently and as a member of the team
• Provide a profitable contribution to the work of the department
• Maintain existing relations with the firm’s clients
• Assist and help develop new relationships with third party referrers
• Conduct private client and related matters on behalf of clients
• Administer estates for taxable and non-taxable estates
• Run own files for estate administration
• Assist partners on more complex estate matters
• Draft Wills, Trusts and Powers of Attorney
• Administer trusts to include tax compliance work
• Participate in the growth and future development of the department
• Assist in the build-up of the client database
• Market the firm’s services
• Maintain orderly and up-to-date files including electronically
• Comply with the firm’s policies on file management
• Complete time recording and other management records required by the firm
• Use case management programmes to run cases
• Liaise with clients (taking messages, arranging meetings etc.)
• Liaise with other professionals e.g. financial advisers and accountants
• Conduct legal research
• Manage the financial control of own matters with particular regard to cash flow through collection of monies on account and billing procedures
• Recognise fee-earning opportunities and develop as appropriate
