The role
Goodwin is seeking a mid-level associate with 3-5 years of PQE to join its Life Sciences group. The role focuses on intellectual property licensing, technology transfer, and IP support for corporate transactions, with fluency in Mandarin a requirement.
What you'll do
- Draft and negotiate intellectual property licenses
- Draft and negotiate patent and trademark licenses
- Draft and negotiate joint development agreements
- Draft and negotiate collaboration agreements
- Draft and negotiate other strategic alliance agreements
- Draft and negotiate technology licenses
- Draft and negotiate services agreements
- Draft and negotiate software-as-a-service agreements
- Draft and negotiate distribution agreements
- Perform intellectual property and technology transaction due diligence for corporate transactions
- Perform intellectual property and technology transaction due diligence for technology transfers
What we're looking for
3-5 years of PQE
Fluency in Mandarin
Experience in intellectual property licensing
Experience in technology transfer
Experience in other technology transactions
Experience in IP support of corporate transactions in the life sciences arena
Experience drafting and negotiating intellectual property licenses
Experience drafting and negotiating joint development, collaboration, and other strategic alliance agreements
Experience drafting and negotiating technology licenses and services agreements
Experience drafting and negotiating distribution agreements
Experience performing intellectual property and technology transaction due diligence for corporate transactions
Experience performing intellectual property and technology transaction due diligence for technology transfers
General experience working in teams
General experience managing substantial components of transactions independently
Outstanding academic credentials
Comparable law firm experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Relevant bar admission or eligibility to obtain admission promptly
Experience working in Asia· nice to have
