The role
K&L Gates is seeking a mid-level associate with 3-5 years of experience to join its Mass Tort and Product Liability practice. This role is based in Charleston, Newark, or Pittsburgh and focuses on high-profile, complex litigation matters.
What we're looking for
3-5 years of experience in mass tort and product liability litigation
Substantive experience defending asbestos claims
Demonstrated experience managing fact and expert discovery, including taking depositions
Demonstrated experience drafting and arguing substantive motions
Demonstrated experience developing and executing causation defenses, including working effectively with expert witnesses
J.D. from an accredited law school
Admitted in the applicable jurisdiction
Motivated, entrepreneurial self-starter
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Eager to take ownership of work
Strong commitment to collaborative culture
Strong commitment to delivering the highest quality client service
Experience with complex commercial disputes· nice to have
