The role
Seeking a junior to mid-level associate with 2-4 years of patent prosecution experience in computational biology to advise biotech, pharmaceutical, and digital health clients on intellectual property matters. The role requires a Ph.D. in computational biology or life sciences and the ability to translate complex scientific concepts into strategic legal guidance.
What you'll do
- Advise biotech, pharmaceutical, and digital health clients on intellectual property and transactional matters relating to data-driven innovations
- Translate complex scientific concepts into strategic legal guidance for patent preparation, prosecution, and portfolio management
What we're looking for
2-4 years of patent prosecution experience in a computational biology practice
Ph.D. in a computational biology or life sciences discipline
Patent bar membership (USPTO Registration Number) is required
Prepare for, take, and pass the patent bar exam either prior to joining the firm or during the first 12 months from the date of hire
Excellent academic credentials
Strong research, writing, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Active member of the bar in the state of the Morgan Lewis office for which they are applying
Ideal candidate will be able to translate complex scientific concepts into strategic legal guidance for patent preparation, prosecution, and portfolio management· nice to have
