The role
Morgan Lewis seeks a computational biology Associate with 2-4 years of patent prosecution experience to join their Intellectual Property practice in Washington D.C. This role will focus on advising clients in the biotech, pharmaceutical, and digital health sectors on IP matters related to data-driven innovations.
What you'll do
- Advise biotech, pharmaceutical, and digital health clients on intellectual property and transactional matters relating to data-driven innovations
What we're looking for
2-4 years of patent prosecution experience in a computational biology practice
Ph.D. in a computational biology or life sciences discipline
Patent bar membership (USPTO Registration Number) required
Ability to prepare for, take, and pass the patent bar exam either prior to joining or during the first 12 months from the date of hire
Excellent academic credentials
Strong research, writing, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Active member of the bar in the state of the Morgan Lewis office for which they are applying
Translate complex scientific concepts into strategic legal guidance for patent preparation, prosecution, and portfolio management· nice to have
