Special Counsel or Senior Associate - Corporate and Funds
Key requirements
At least 7 years of post-admission experience gained within a reputable law firm, professional services or in-house Strong grounding in M&A and corporate transactional work Meaningful exposure to, or demonstrable interest in, corporate and/or transactional funds Ability to lead transactional matters independently
The role
MinterEllison is seeking a Special Counsel or Senior Associate with at least 7 years of post-admission experience to join their Corporate and Funds practice group in Sydney. The role focuses on transactional real asset funds work, fund management, and advisory services for a tier 1 client base.
What you'll do
- Enjoy a broad mix of transactional real asset funds work across both wholesale and retail structures
- Engage in fund management and advisory work
- Assist clients in their raising of capital
- Assist clients in structuring their investments
- Assist clients in the ongoing operation of their vehicles and mandates
- Assist clients in the deployment of capital
- Provide Board-level advisory services to clients
- Deliver practical and commercially sound guidance
- Work collaboratively with a team of experienced and supportive professionals across our network of offices
What we're looking for
At least 7 years of post-admission experience gained within a reputable law firm, professional services or in-house
Strong grounding in M&A and corporate transactional work
Meaningful exposure to, or demonstrable interest in, corporate and/or transactional funds
Ability to lead transactional matters independently
Ability to provide strategic, commercially astute advice to clients
Experience in managing client relationships
Ability to develop enduring client partnerships
Sound drafting skills and technical ability across relevant areas of law, including the Corporations Act
Experience mentoring and developing lawyers
Commitment to invest meaningfully in the team and contribute to business development
Ability to deliver exceptional levels of service to a sophisticated local and international client base
