Of Counsel - Litigation (Product Liability) at DLA Piper

The role

DLA Piper seeks an Of Counsel attorney for its Litigation group, specializing in pharmaceutical/medical device Product Liability with a focus on Daubert/Rule 702 motions practice. This role requires 8+ years of experience and is open to candidates in any of their U.S. offices.

What you'll do

Reviewing and drafting discovery responses, briefs, motions, and memoranda
Communicating with clients
Supervising associates
Working with experts
Assisting with fact development and depositions
Helping develop case strategy

What we're looking for

JD degree

Strong academic credentials from nationally recognized schools

Admitted to practice in the jurisdiction in which you are applying

Candidates licensed to practice law in New York are encouraged to apply

Must have a science background (MD, MPH, PharmD, Epidemiology)

8+ years of experience

Extensive experience writing briefs, including specifically Rule 702 of the Federal Rules of Evidence and Daubert issues

Experience with products liability litigation

Strong analytical and writing skills

Attention to detail

Good business judgment

Excellent organizational skills

Ability to work collaboratively and independently

Demonstrated oral and written communication skills

Research and problem-solving skills

Management skills

Experience preferably gained while practicing at an AmLaw 100 firm· nice to have
