The role
Our Tech M&A and Venture Capital (VC) practice is seeking a Senior Associate or Associate level lawyer for our Sydney Corporate practice within the TMT team. This role focuses on transactional and advisory matters for technology sector clients, including private M&A, venture capital, and high-growth company advisory.
What you'll do
Advise on private M&A for tech-sector clients
Advise on private capital raisings (both investor and company-side roles)
Advise on joint venture and strategic partnering arrangements
Provide startup and scaleup support across their lifecycle
Provide corporate governance and strategic guidance to startups and scaleups
Advise on equity incentive arrangements
Provide commercial contracting advice to startups and scaleups
Advise on general commercial matters
Work side-by-side with clients on transformative and business critical matters
Explore and develop new opportunities
Deliver outstanding service
Act for a range of Australia's top companies and high growth enterprises
What we're looking for
Demonstrated experience from a leading Corporate practice
Experience in venture capital / private capital raisings
Experience in private M&A
Experience in corporate advisory
Australia or other common law jurisdiction experience
Direct involvement in drafting and negotiation
Ability to effectively manage smaller matters and elements of larger matters
Willingness to participate in business development activities
Desire and ability to grow, both as a lawyer and as a leader
Willingness to build an understanding of clients and develop effective working relationships
Ability to establish a professional profile and internal networks
Willingness to develop others through mentoring and sharing experiences and networks
