Associate

The role

Lewis Silkin is seeking an Associate with 2-4 years of PQE to join its IP, Technology practice in London. This role will focus on technology advisory and transactional work, advising on technology regulation and drafting technology agreements.

What you'll do

• Provide technical legal expertise
• Continually seek to build on current knowledge and proactively look to improve advising skills
• Analyse legal information to solve problems and formulate arguments or strategy relevant to clients’ needs
• Use initiative to proactively manage work and provide regular and appropriate updates to stakeholders
• Proactively develop positive working relationships with colleagues
• Work collaboratively and treat all colleagues with respect and professionalism
• Have an awareness of the firm’s goals and clients
• Have an appropriate level of involvement in building and maintaining relationships with key clients and prospects
• Advise on technology regulation, including DORA, EU AI Act, Data Act, Digital Services Act, basic data privacy, and cyber security
• Mark up a wide variety of tech agreements (including DPAs)
• Use legal AI, as well as explore AI use cases for the team, firm or clients
• Work on complex, business-critical and high-value matters
• Support senior lawyers
• Take responsibility for own matters
• Collaborate closely with colleagues across the firm and with international partner firms
• Work directly with in-house legal teams at large corporates and high-profile brands
• Contribute to knowledge initiatives
