Charities and Social Sector Lawyer at Gilbert + Tobin

The role

Gilbert + Tobin is seeking a Charities and Social Sector Lawyer with 3+ years of experience to join their Sydney team. This role will focus on providing legal advice to charities, not-for-profits, and other for-purpose organisations, with a practice encompassing M&A, restructures, governance, and regulatory matters.

What you'll do

Advise on charity establishment and registration, including tax concessions and deductible gift recipient (DGR) endorsements
Advise on corporate governance, including directors' duties, constitutions and governance frameworks
Advise on mergers, acquisitions and corporate restructures
Advise on regulatory investigations and compliance

What we're looking for

3+ years' post-admission experience in a charities and not-for-profits, Corporate Advisory or M&A practice

Strong drafting and advice writing skills

Strong technical and analytical skills

A genuine interest in working with charities, not-for-profits and other for purpose organisations

The ability to work effectively with clients

The ability to work autonomously and in a team environment
