Paralegal at Irwin Mitchell

The role

Irwin Mitchell is seeking a Paralegal to join their Litigation practice group in London. This role is for an individual who can provide legal support to qualified Case Handlers on serious injury cases, managing client queries and progressing casework independently under supervision.

What you'll do

Provide legal support to qualified Case Handlers across a range of serious injury cases
Manage client queries promptly, efficiently, and with empathy
Progress casework independently, under appropriate supervision, while working collaboratively within the wider team
Liaise with clients, medical professionals, and other stakeholders in person, by telephone, and in writing
Arrange meetings, obtain medical reports, and follow up on outstanding information with sensitivity and professionalism

What we're looking for

Previous experience working as a Paralegal or in a comparable legal support role

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Demonstrable ability to manage and prioritise a varied workload, progressing tasks effectively and meeting deadlines

Ability to work independently using initiative while also contributing effectively as part of a team

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

Experience of providing high-quality client service

Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with clients, medical professionals, and other external organisations

Experience working within a Serious Injury, Personal Injury, Clinical Negligence, or claimant litigation environment· nice to have

Experience liaising with medical experts and obtaining medical records or reports· nice to have

Understanding of the rehabilitation-focused approach to supporting clients following a serious injury· nice to have
