Associate - Health Litigation at Hill Dickinson

The role

Hill Dickinson is seeking an Associate within their Health Litigation practice group in Manchester. This role is for a qualified solicitor with 2+ years of experience, focusing on defendant clinical negligence cases for insurer and medical malpractice clients.

What you'll do

Run a caseload of clinical negligence files
Review Insurance Policies and advise on coverage
Draft reports
Interview witnesses
Draft witness statements
Instruct experts
Instruct counsel
Attend Court for Case Management Conferences and Application Hearings
Advise on quantum and negotiating settlements
Hold conferences with Counsel
Prepare for and attend trials and mediations
Draft articles for clients on changes to the law
Give client training and presentations
Build and maintain client and internal relationships, adhering to both internal and external operating procedures
Contribute to business development by seek new business opportunities
Have a wider contribution to the Health business group and wider Firm by continually seeking ways to improve
Supervise colleagues work and support development of the team by appropriate delegation and coaching

What we're looking for

Qualified Solicitor

Defendant Clinical negligence experience

Ability to work independently and as part of a growing team, in the office and remotely

Demonstrates an understanding of clients’ needs/expectations

Adheres to guidelines and client protocols/KPIs

Proactive pragmatic approach with focus on quality

Excellent attention to detail

Excellent organisational and communication skills

An appreciation of client data security requirements

Evidence of meeting hours and contribution target
