The role

Irwin Mitchell is seeking a Solicitor with 0-4 years of PQE to join their Public Law & Human Rights team in Bristol. This role focuses on Health & Welfare caseloads within the Court of Protection, acting for vulnerable adults and their families.

What you'll do

Support the team with a dedicated Court of Protection Health & Welfare caseload
Handle Section 21A challenges to deprivation of liberty
Manage best interests applications relating to residence, care, contact, and medical treatment
Address capacity disputes
Deal with safeguarding and risk-related matters
Support vulnerable clients with complex needs

What we're looking for

Qualified Solicitor with between NQ and 4 years' PQE

Experience in Court of Protection Health & Welfare matters

Knowledge of Mental Capacity Act and deprivation of liberty issues

Experience working with vulnerable adults and their support networks

Ability to manage sensitive and complex cases with empathy and professionalism

Advocacy experience or a willingness to develop advocacy skills

Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, families, experts and other professionals

Passion for protecting the rights of vulnerable people

Commitment to delivering compassionate, high-quality client care
