Senior Associate -Litigation at Bell Gully

The role

Bell Gully is seeking a Senior Associate - Litigation with 7+ years of PQE to join their nationally recognised team in Auckland, New Zealand. This role focuses on complex commercial and civil litigation, acting on high-profile disputes at the top end of the market.

What you'll do

Lead major commercial and civil litigation matters, from advisory through to trial and appeal
Build strong, trusted relationships with clients
Contribute to business development initiatives
Manage large scale disputes across departments
Work closely with Partners on strategy, complex legal analysis, and team leadership
Mentor junior team members
Supervise junior team members

What we're looking for

7+ years PQE, including private practice and/or in-house

Experience leading major commercial and civil litigation matters, from advisory through to trial and appeal

Experience building strong, trusted relationships with clients and contributing to business development initiatives

Experience managing large scale disputes across departments

Experience working closely with Partners on strategy, complex legal analysis, and team leadership

Deep understanding of court procedure and evidence

Strong advocacy skills

Strong drafting skills

Ability to work collaboratively
