Civil Litigation Senior Associate or Associate at Tompkins Wake

The role

Tompkins Wake is seeking a Civil Litigation Senior Associate or Associate for their Hamilton or Auckland office. This role is for an experienced litigator with 4-8 years of PQE, focusing on a broad range of civil and commercial disputes for public and private sector clients.

What you'll do

Provide strategic advice across a range of disputes
Undertake court appearances (commensurate with your experience)
Work alongside Partners, Special Counsel and the independent bar on complex matters
Collaborate with teams across the firm on contentious issues
Build strong and lasting client relationships
Take increasing ownership of matters as experience grows
Play a greater role in developing client relationships
Contribute to the continued success of the team

What we're looking for

Approximately 4-8 years' PQE in civil litigation

Strong litigation capability

Commercial judgement

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Well-developed drafting and advocacy ability

Sound judgement

Strong commercial awareness

Experience managing or supporting litigation matters

High attention to detail

Commitment to delivering quality outcomes

A collaborative, team-focused approach

A genuine desire to continue developing your practice

Experience in construction litigation· nice to have

Experience in competition and/or regulatory law· nice to have

Experience in Intellectual Property (IP)· nice to have

Mandarin language skills· nice to have
