The role

Stephenson Harwood is seeking a Real Estate Associate to join their Real Estate Finance sub-team in London. This role is suitable for a lawyer with a few years of experience interested in real estate finance transactions.

What you'll do

Acting for banks and other lenders on the property aspects of their Real Estate Finance loans
Carrying out property due diligence
Reviewing Certificates of Title
Producing property reports
Assisting on property related Conditions Precedents
Review of completion undertakings
Review of completion mechanics
Dealing with requests from borrowers for lender consents
Advising receivers and administrators on property related matters
Advise on standard real estate matters
Primarily acquisitions and disposals

What we're looking for

A few years’ real estate experience

Interest in working on real estate finance transactions

Experience working at a firm with a highly regarded real estate practice

Proven track record in handling relevant matters at the appropriate level

Active participant in self-development

Commercial awareness

Exhibits an understanding of the Firm’s position in the market and how it distinguishes its services from its competitors

Excellent academic and professional qualifications

Good housekeeping/file management practices

Manages and records time promptly and accurately

Organised and able to work to strict deadlines with the ability to prioritise realistically

Entrepreneurial

Excellent accuracy and attention to detail

Excellent verbal and numerical communication skills

A self-starter, able to work alone and within a small team

Ability to operate professionally and proactively at all times

Previous real estate finance experience· nice to have

Previous experience in the real estate aspects of insolvency / restructuring· nice to have
