Mid-Level Energy M&A / Projects Associate

The role

Baker Botts is seeking a Mid-Level Energy M&A / Projects Associate with 4-6 years of experience for their Houston office. This role focuses on advising clients on complex energy transactions, including M&A and project development and financing.

What you'll do

• Advise energy companies, private equity sponsors, infrastructure investors and other clients on a broad range of M&A and transactional matters
• Represent clients in acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, strategic investments and other corporate transactions involving energy and infrastructure assets
• Support clients on energy projects, including project development, project financings, commercial arrangements and related regulatory and corporate matters
• Draft and negotiate purchase and sale agreements, joint venture agreements, development agreements, financing documents and other transaction-related agreements
• Manage substantive aspects of transactions, including due diligence, transaction structuring, negotiations and closing
• Work closely with partners and clients and coordinate with attorneys across multiple practice areas and offices
• Take an active role in mentoring and developing junior associates and contribute to the continued growth of the Houston energy practice
