Associate (Energy and Infrastructure M&A)

The role

This role is for an Associate with 3-4 years of experience in Energy, Infrastructure, and M&A at Ashurst Perkins Coie in Singapore. The position focuses on the firm's growing regional energy and infrastructure M&A practice.

What you'll do

• Manage complex transactions and client expectations, sometimes on tight timelines
• Structure deals across multiple jurisdictions
• Draft and review legal documents and agreements, including sale and purchase agreements, shareholder agreements, joint venture agreements
• Manage the full lifecycle of corporate transactions, including execution, due diligence, and post-closing matters
• Lead due diligence teams, conduct due diligence and verification exercises (both buy-side and sell-side), both within the firm and externally (e.g. local counsel, other advisors)
• Liaise with other teams, particularly the projects team, on project financing and project development matters
• Liaise and negotiate with clients and counterparties
• Provide structured supervision and on-the-job training to junior team members
• Assist with transaction management and completion processes
