The role

This is an interim Derivatives / Trading Lawyer role for Simmons & Simmons in Hong Kong, requiring 6+ years of PQE. The role focuses on providing legal support for derivatives and financial markets matters within the Finance practice area.

What you'll do

Provide legal support to the trading and investment teams on a broad range of derivatives and financial markets matters
Negotiate, review and advise on trading-related documentation, including ISDA Master Agreements, Credit Support Annexes (CSAs), Global Master Repurchase Agreements (GMRAs), Clearing and execution documentation, Prime brokerage agreements, and Ancillary trading and collateral documentation
Advise on new and existing trading arrangements, counterparty onboarding and regulatory developments affecting the business
Coordinate with external counsel and internal stakeholders on legal and regulatory matters
Work closely with the London-based Legal team to ensure seamless support across jurisdictions
Identify and manage legal and regulatory risks while providing pragmatic, commercial solutions to the business

What we're looking for

Qualified lawyer with approximately 6+ years' PQE

Strong experience advising on derivatives, prime brokerage arrangements, clearing documentation

Prior in-house experience within a hedge fund, asset manager, investment bank or financial institution is preferred

Strong working knowledge of ISDA documentation and related trading agreements

Comfortable working independently in Hong Kong while collaborating closely with an overseas legal team

Commercially minded with excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

Buy-side experience would be highly advantageous· nice to have
