Associate, Private Equity, Corporate Transactions & Advisory, Hong Kong at Clifford Chance

The role

Clifford Chance is seeking a junior associate with 1-3 years of PQE to join their Corporate Transactions & Advisory group in Hong Kong. The role will focus on private equity and M&A transactions, advising leading private equity sponsors and corporate clients.

What you'll do

Advise on a variety of M&A transactions, including PE leveraged buy-outs and control acquisitions/disposals
Advise on PE significant minority investments alongside founders/controlling shareholders
Advise on Hong Kong take privates/P2P transactions
Advise on cross-border M&As
Advise on secondaries transactions, working closely with the Funds team
Advise on selected pre-IPO / minority investments

What we're looking for

Hong Kong qualified with 1-3 years' PQE

Experience in Corporate / M&A, ideally with exposure to private equity transactions

Fluent Mandarin language skills

Strong technical drafting and transactional skills

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams within tight timeframes

Commercially minded, with a genuine interest in understanding clients’ businesses and objectives

Proactive and solution-oriented, with the ability to anticipate issues and deliver practical outcomes

A strong communicator, able to build credibility and confidence with clients and colleagues

Collaborative, with a team-first mindset and a willingness to take ownership of your work

Organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to deliver high-quality work in fast-paced, time-critical environments

Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new challenges and areas of work

Strong work ethic and commitment to delivering excellent client service

Motivated to contribute to client relationship development and long-term growth of the practice
