The role
Hall & Wilcox is seeking an experienced Employment Lawyer with 4-6 years of PQE for their Melbourne office. This role will focus on advising national and international employers on a range of contentious and non-contentious employment and industrial relations matters, as well as transactional employment work.
What you'll do
- Provide legal support to Partners on matters relating to employment law and industrial relations
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of complex legal concepts and creatively apply legal knowledge to client situations to provide solutions to problems
- Draft legal documents, advices and handle multiple matters at any one time
- Maintain high level of communication with clients regarding progress of matters
- Work as part of a talented team on large and complex litigation matters including restraints litigation, general protections, discrimination and unfair dismissal claims
- Advise on employment-related aspects of corporate transactions, including due diligence
- Draft and review employment-related transaction documents
- Discovery of documents and preparation of lists of documents
What we're looking for
4-6 years of post-admission experience in employment and industrial relations law
Experience in transactional employment work including due diligence
Experience from a large national or international law firm or specialist employment law practice
Excellent technical, analytical and drafting skills with a keen attention to detail
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
Ability to organise and prioritise effectively
Strong commitment to client service and ability to manage client relationships
Focus on achieving commercial solutions for clients
Proactive and able to work autonomously and as part of a collaborative team
Experience in transactional employment work being highly desirable· nice to have
