The role

The Legal Explorer Programme at Addleshaw Goddard is a year-long skills development and work experience opportunity for Year 12/S5 students from less privileged backgrounds. It offers online workshops, mentorship, and paid work experience in Leeds, London, or Manchester.

Take part in online sessions
Take part in workshops
Undertake work shadowing
Receive a laptop
Receive a mentor for the year
Receive a week of paid work experience in one of our offices in the summer

What we're looking for

Must be in Year 12 in England or S5 in Scotland in the 2026/2027 academic year

Must be attending, and have always attended, a state-funded, non-fee-paying school/college

Must be within travelling distance (maximum one hour) of an Addleshaw Goddard office in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, London or Manchester

Grew up in a household where no parent or guardian attended University

Currently in receipt of, or have previously received, free school meals, Pupil Premium, Education Maintenance Allowance and/or 16 to 19 Bursary

Have been, or are currently, in local authority care

Are, or have been, a full-time or part-time carer

Came to the UK as a refugee or asylum seeker

Main household earner's occupation is categorised as a routine or manual occupation

Attending a state school or college with below average A-Level or Higher point score

Attending a state school or college with a low rate of progression to higher education

Able to commit to all dates in your relevant location
