The role

This role is for an experienced Employment Lawyer with 5+ years of PQE, based in Melbourne, Australia. The position is with Ashurst Perkins Coie, focusing on complex workplace investigations and integrity matters.

What you'll do

Manage workplace investigations, misconduct matters and integrity-related issues
Assess, triage and manage allegations of misconduct, conflicts of interest, fraud, bullying, corruption or other integrity concerns
Oversee and coordinate internal and external investigations
Manage investigators
Review findings
Ensure procedural fairness
Conduct risk assessments
Provide recommendations to address integrity, governance and workplace conduct issues
Analyse complex information
Identify key issues
Develop practical, risk-based solutions
Prepare briefing papers, investigation reports and recommendations for senior stakeholders
Manage sensitive and confidential matters
Provide guidance on workplace conduct, governance, compliance and organisational integrity matters
Manage multiple investigations and competing priorities

What we're looking for

Minimum of 5 years' experience as an employment lawyer

Demonstrated experience managing workplace investigations, misconduct matters and integrity-related issues

Experience assessing, triaging and managing allegations of misconduct, conflicts of interest, fraud, bullying, corruption or other integrity concerns

Proven ability to oversee and coordinate internal and external investigations

Strong understanding of investigative methodologies, evidence assessment, fact-finding processes and report preparation

Experience conducting risk assessments and providing recommendations

Ability to analyse complex information, identify key issues and develop practical, risk-based solutions

Experience preparing high-quality briefing papers, investigation reports and recommendations for senior stakeholders

Experience managing sensitive and confidential matters with discretion and sound judgement

Ability to provide guidance on workplace conduct, governance, compliance and organisational integrity matters

Proven ability to manage multiple investigations and competing priorities

Highly analytical with the ability to assess complex information objectively and draw sound conclusions

Strong judgement and decision-making skills when dealing with sensitive and high-risk matters

Strong investigative mindset with curiosity, attention to detail and a commitment to fact-based decision making

Pragmatic and solutions-focused with the ability to balance risk, fairness and organisational outcomes

Excellent stakeholder management skills

Highly organised with strong prioritisation and case management capabilities

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
