Senior Associate / Special Counsel - Commercial/Wills and Estates at Piper Alderman

The role

Piper Alderman is seeking a Senior Associate / Special Counsel with 6+ years of PQE to join their Private Client Services team in Melbourne. This role focuses on Wills and Estate Planning, advising high-net-worth individuals and business owners on complex matters.

What you'll do

Work across a range of varied matters as part of our national Private Client Services practice including complex estate, succession and wills planning
Advise high-net-worth individuals and succession planning for business owners and family groups including long-term wealth preservation and business continuity
Advise on family governance and family constitutions, structuring and restructuring of family groups
Advise on trusts and trustee matters
Advise on superannuation and SMSFs
Advise on asset protection and intergenerational wealth transfer
Advise on private wealth and philanthropic structures

What we're looking for

Experience as an admitted lawyer with 6+ years PQE experience within estate and succession planning

A strong academic record coupled with excellent technical legal skills

Excellent business development skills and experience working with family offices, accountants and financial advisers

A commitment to excellence and delivery of high-quality outcomes to our clients

Ability to effectively manage your own time, managing competing tasks and at times working to tight deadlines

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to develop and maintain client relationships

Strong attention to detail

A proactive and ‘can do’ attitude with an eagerness to learn and grow your career with Piper Alderman
