Senior Associate - Responsible Business & ESG

The role

This is a Senior Associate role within Corrs Chambers Westgarth's Responsible Business & ESG practice in Sydney. The role is for an experienced lawyer with 4+ years of PQE who will focus on delivering complex client mandates related to business and human rights, ESG governance, and contentious ESG matters, while contributing to the strategic growth of the practice.

What you'll do

• Deliver complex client mandates across business and human rights, ESG governance and contentious ESG matters
• Manage complex workstreams
• Supervise junior team members
• Contribute to the strategic growth of the practice group
• Build and deepen key client relationships and contribute to business development and growth of the practice group
• Engage in thought leadership and contribute to the public discourse on human rights, ESG and sustainability
• Collaborate with specialists across the firm on multi-disciplinary mandates
• Develop, review and evaluate human rights governance and compliance frameworks
• Advise on the application of international human rights standards for business
• Advise on legal risk and compliance issues in voluntary and mandatory reporting
• Advise on directors’ duties, governance and risk management frameworks
• Advise on ESG issues in corporate transactions
• Advise on evolving due diligence and disclosure obligations
• Advise on greenwashing risks
• Act in ESG-related litigation
• Conduct complex human rights/supply chain investigations
