Senior Associate - Responsible Business & ESG at Corrs Chambers Westgarth

The role

Corrs Chambers Westgarth is seeking a Senior Associate for its Responsible Business & ESG practice in Melbourne. This role is for an experienced lawyer with 4+ years of PQE who will play a key role in delivering complex client mandates related to business and human rights, ESG governance, and contentious ESG matters.

What you'll do

Deliver complex client mandates across business and human rights, ESG governance and contentious ESG matters
Manage complex workstreams
Supervise junior team members
Contribute to the strategic growth of the practice group
Build and deepen key client relationships
Contribute to business development
Engage in thought leadership
Contribute to the public discourse on human rights, ESG and sustainability
Collaborate with specialists across the firm on multi-disciplinary mandates

What we're looking for

4+ years post-qualification experience

Experience gained at a leading Australian or international law firm

Demonstrated understanding of core business and human rights standards and frameworks

Demonstrated understanding of ESG and sustainability issues, and how they intersect with hard law and client’s commercial and strategic objectives

Demonstrated capacity to manage complex matters and client relationships with a high degree of autonomy

Experience supervising junior team members

A genuine interest in contributing to the professional development of junior team members

Some exposure to contentious ESG mandates· nice to have
