The role

This is a 3-month full-time hybrid role for an experienced Corporate and Commercial Lawyer with 3+ years of PQE, focusing on M&A within the energy and resources sector. The position is based in Brisbane and is part of Reach, the flexible legal resourcing platform of Ashurst Perkins Coie.

What you'll do

Provide legal support across a broad range of commercial, corporate and contractual matters
Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements
Provide practical and commercially focused legal advice to business stakeholders
Identify and mitigate legal, commercial and operational risks
Engage with executives, project teams and operational stakeholders
Prepare clear and concise legal advice, reports, contract documentation and decision-making materials
Support business objectives while managing legal risk
Support a wide variety of legal, contractual and regulatory matters

What we're looking for

Minimum of 3 years' experience

Demonstrated experience providing legal support across a broad range of commercial, corporate and contractual matters

Strong experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements

Proven ability to provide practical and commercially focused legal advice

Strong understanding of corporate governance, risk management, compliance and regulatory obligations

Experience identifying and mitigating legal, commercial and operational risks

Strong stakeholder engagement skills

Experience preparing clear and concise legal advice, reports, contract documentation and decision-making materials

Strong commercial acumen

Current Australian practising certificate

Right to live and work in Australia

Experience within the energy, infrastructure, utilities or resources sectors· nice to have
