The role
Wilson Sonsini is seeking an Associate with 1-3 years of transactional experience to join its Technology practice group. This role focuses on advising clients on data, privacy, and cybersecurity issues within major transactions like M&A and public offerings.
What you'll do
- Advise on privacy, data processing, and cybersecurity issues that arise in mergers and acquisitions, public offerings, and other commercial and strategic transactions
- Shape data provisions
- Flag risks that didn’t exist five years ago
- Translate fast-moving regulatory issues into clear guidance for deal teams and clients
What we're looking for
1 to 3 years of experience
Real transactional exposure, whether M&A, capital markets, or technology transactions
Judgment: the ability to see how a privacy issue plays out inside a live deal
A J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
Strong academic credentials
Sharp verbal and written communication
Regulatory policy or enforcement experience· nice to have
CIPP certification· nice to have

Salary range of $225,000 – $260,000
