Lawyer / Associate - Construction (front-end) at Maddocks

The role

Maddocks is seeking a front-end Construction Lawyer/Associate with 4+ years of PQE to join their leading Melbourne team. The role involves working on a variety of project documentation for a broad range of clients, including government entities and major contractors.

What you'll do

Draft, review, negotiate and provide advice on a range of project documentation, including construction contracts, consultancy agreements, side deeds and project deeds
Contribute to the team’s business development activities
Mentor the more junior team members
Work alongside Partners Simone Holding, Billy Gialamas, Andrew Pitney and Sefton Warner

What we're looking for

Currently working as a transactional/front-end lawyer in a construction or projects team either in private practice or in-house

Sound technical legal ability and drafting skills

Genuine interest in working in the construction and infrastructure sector

Client-focused approach with a deep understanding of commercial drivers in the industry

Independent thinker, comfortable learning new concepts quickly and contributing ideas to discussions

Legally permitted to work in Australia
