Associate (1-3PQE) - Insurance (Disputes & Coverage) at Clyde & Co

The role

Clyde & Co is seeking an Associate lawyer with 0-3 PQE to join their Insurance Disputes & Coverage practice in Sydney, Australia. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex, high-value, multi-party litigation for local and international clients, closely with Partner Christopher Smith.

What you'll do

Assist with the preparation and management of client files
Draft, analyse, and interpret a range of legal documents and correspondence
Conduct legal research and prepare summary memoranda
Prepare and file court documents
Attend client meetings and teleconferences
Contribute to matter planning and strategy sessions
Prepare file notes, memoranda, and meeting summaries
Assist with drafting witness statements and affidavits
Liaise with and support barristers, including preparing briefs to counsel
Stay up to date with legal developments and contribute to internal learning sessions
Support business development activities, including writing articles, preparing presentations, and assisting with tenders and client events

What we're looking for

NQ to 3PQE experience

Genuine interest in general insurance litigation spanning financial lines, professional indemnity, and director and officers (D&O)

Strong academic credentials

Self-driven with excellent verbal and written communications skills

Strong time management skills and ability to manage competing priorities effectively

Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration skills

Ability to work independently

Commercial awareness and confidence in building rapport with clients
