The role
This role is for an interim Legal Consultant with 5+ years of PQE in construction/projects, based in Dubai, UAE. The position is with A&O Shearman's Peerpoint platform, focusing on Energy and Infrastructure practice areas.
What you'll do
- Supporting both the firm and its clients on often landmark, challenging and interesting deals across the UAE and globally
- Advising on every stage from project inception and financing to delivery and dispute resolution
- Collaborate with industry leaders, expand your skills in a fast-paced environment, and make a tangible impact on landmark projects that drive progress and innovation
- Work on high-profile, complex developments across diverse sectors
- Support and advise on the structuring, negotiation and documentation of LNG project agreements, including EPC contracts, joint venture agreements, shareholder agreements and LNG sale and purchase agreements (SPA’s)
- Cover a variation of projects supporting and advising on the structuring, negotiation and documentation of LNG project agreements
- Partnering with internal functions, such as finance and sourcing, to shape legal input on financing materials
What we're looking for
A minimum of four years' post-qualification experience at a top tier firm for your specialism and jurisdiction
A current practising certificate (or equivalent)
Recent in-house legal experience within an energy, construction, transport or infrastructure company is beneficial but not essential· nice to have
Middle Eastern experience and Arabic language skills are advantageous· nice to have
