Legal consultant (interim) - project development/project finance at A&O Shearman

The role

A&O Shearman is seeking an interim Legal Consultant specializing in project development and project finance for their Abu Dhabi office. This role is for lawyers with at least 4 years of PQE in top-tier firms within the Energy and Infrastructure practice areas.

What you'll do

Assist with the project financing of power and water assets
Support a client with procurement and contract experience
Advise and negotiate EPC, O&M and other related infrastructure contracts

What we're looking for

At least four years' PQE in a law firm ranked as top tier for project finance or project development

Practising certificate (or equivalent) which entitles them to practise as a lawyer in the region

Consultant mindset, including a highly professional, flexible and adaptable outlook and approach

Desire to take ownership of their career and be responsible for their own professional development and network

Researched the personal and financial factors that you need to consider when commencing a career as a legal consultant and be comfortable with the ways in which it differs from permanent employment

Recent in-house legal experience across corporates, financial institutions and sovereign entities· nice to have

Experience in the Middle East and fluency in Arabic· nice to have
