Regulatory Defence - Principal Associate at Weightmans

The role

Weightmans is seeking a Regulatory Defence Principal Associate to join their Health Law practice group in Leeds or Manchester. This role is suitable for a Solicitor with 2-5 years of PQE, focusing on advising on regulatory, disciplinary, coronial, and criminal matters within the healthcare sector.

What you'll do

Take responsibility for cases with minimal supervision
Achieve set financial and chargeable targets
Assist other lawyers in the team with their work, including supporting lead advisers and the supervision of more junior lawyers
Conduct Advocacy including at pre-inquest review hearings and inquests, where appropriate
Produce monthly and ad-hoc client MI reports

What we're looking for

Knowledge of the way that the healthcare regulators work

Qualified Solicitor 2 - 5 Years PQE

Advocacy experience

A willingness extend your existing skills and develop expertise in this area of law

A high level of commercial awareness

Conscientious, self-motivated, hardworking, responsive, with critical thinking abilities and excellent communication, organisation and analytical skills

A methodical, organised approach

Passionate about growth and generating work opportunities internally and externally

Focuses on operational excellence and generating work opportunities through great service delivery and the client’s experience

Ability to work to strict deadlines and timetables, meeting targets and client protocols whilst maintaining high standards of accuracy and quality

Excellent attention to detail

Excellent IT skills

Able to multi-task and prioritise tasks independently

Ability to work as part of a team and also possessing initiative and a “can-do” attitude

Excellent collaborative and team working skills
