EL/PL Solicitor at Weightmans

The role

Weightmans is seeking an EL/PL Solicitor with 1-3 years of PQE to join their Insurance practice in Birmingham, Leeds, or Liverpool. This role involves managing a caseload of litigated claims and supporting senior fee earners within the Casualty team.

What you'll do

Run a case load of fast and multi track litigated claims, dealing with both liability and quantum
Manage disclosure documents
Assist senior fee earners with various tasks including general case management, legal research, drafting of witness statements, reports to clients and preparation for court hearings
Attend client meetings and court hearings to support fee earners
Assist with the instruction of Counsel and experts
Respond promptly and accurately to correspondence and telephone enquiries from clients and other parties, with and without supervision
Achieve set financial and chargeable targets
Support the team’s business development activities

What we're looking for

1-3 years PQE

Knowledge of CPR procedure with proven technical ability

Excellent IT skills

Excellent written and communication skills

Excellent time management and organisation skills

Excellent attention to detail and concentration

Ability to multi-task and prioritise

Ability to work to strict deadlines and targets

Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative

Flexible approach to work and ability to adapt to different tasks
