The role
Baker McKenzie is seeking a Senior Associate for their Technology, Communications and Commercial practice in Sydney, Australia. The role is for an experienced lawyer with 5-8 years of PQE, focusing on complex technology, regulatory, and commercial work.
What you'll do
- Draft technology contracts and agreements
- Provide advice on the supply and procurement of goods or services in the digital, technology, telecommunications and media sectors
What we're looking for
5-8 years' PQE
5-8 years' experience in complex technology, regulatory and commercial work
Experience preferable working within a similar large firm environment with a focus on larger, transactional deals and complex regulatory and advisory matters
Strong experience in drafting technology contracts and agreements
Experience providing advice on the supply and procurement of goods or services in the digital, technology, telecommunications and media sectors
Relevant legal qualifications
A willingness to learn
Strong client service orientation
Strong technical, drafting and commercial skills
Excellent analytical, communication, and research skills
A commitment to high work standards and strong attention to detail
An ability to demonstrate initiative and proactivity
An ability to develop strong relationships with clients and to take responsibility for this relationship
An ability to work well in a team environment (including across Australian offices and internationally)
Exposure to digital and telecommunications regulations, including privacy, online safety, cybersecurity, media and broadcasting regulation· nice to have
Relevant experience in a top tier or leading international firm preferred· nice to have
