Senior Associate / Managing Associate - Data Licensing (TMT)

The role

Pinsent Masons seeks a Senior Associate or Managing Associate with 5-10 PQE for their TMT team in London, Manchester, or Edinburgh. This role focuses on financial data licensing, data commercialisation, and strategic technology transactions, working with leading financial institutions on high-value matters.

What you'll do

• Advise clients on a broad range of data, technology and commercial matters
• Advise, draft and negotiate a wide variety of financial market data licensing agreements for high-profile financial organisations
• Analyse financial market data licensing agreements to provide legal advice notes on what uses are permitted in particular with regard to use of AI
• Advise financial organisations on dealing with audits and contractual remediation projects
• Draft and negotiate a range of complex technology and commercial agreements
• Support clients on technology-enabled data initiatives, including AI and machine learning projects
• Manage multi-stakeholder negotiations involving global financial institutions, exchanges, technology providers and data suppliers
• Work closely with intellectual property, regulatory and corporate specialists to deliver integrated advice
• Support business development initiatives and helping strengthen Pinsent Masons' market-leading data licensing practice
• Supervise junior lawyers depending on level
• Lead client relationships depending on level
• Contribute to the strategic growth of this expanding practice depending on level
