Regulatory Solicitor

The role

Weightmans is seeking a Regulatory Solicitor with 3+ years of PQE to join their large and highly-regarded Regulatory Department. This Birmingham/Leeds/Leicester-based role primarily involves undertaking inquests for clients such as the police, emergency services, insurers, and healthcare providers, with a strong emphasis on advocacy.

What you'll do

• Advise clients and prepare inquest cases for court
• Prepare written submissions on the law
• Attend inquests and undertake advocacy on our clients’ behalf
• Deal with post inquest issues including prevention of future deaths reports
• Manage a case load of files
• Attend administrative applications and hearings at court, including travel, and accompany counsel where necessary
• Achieve set financial and chargeable targets
• Ensure relevant deadlines, quality measures and KPIs are adhered to
• Comply with relevant policies and procedures
