Regulatory Defence Solicitor

The role

This role is for a Regulatory Inquest Defence Lawyer with 4-10 PQE to join Weightmans' Regulatory Core team. The lawyer will manage a caseload of Inquest and broad Regulatory defence work, including some criminal files, and will supervise junior colleagues within the department.

What you'll do

• Manage a diverse case load of files
• Supervise case work undertaken by other colleagues
• Ensure relevant deadlines, quality measures and Key Performance Indicators are adhered to
• Work with the Team and department management structures to develop our service delivery
• Be commercial and acquisitive and actively look for opportunities to develop our business and brand
• Attend applications and hearings at court, including travel, and accompany counsel where necessary
• Undertake advocacy at pre-inquest review hearings and inquests, where appropriate
• Hit financial and casework expectations
• Work collaboratively within the Team and the wider department
• Comply with relevant policies and procedures
• Work in accordance with Weightmans’ values
