The role

Gateley Legal is seeking an ambitious Corporate Senior Associate for their Birmingham office, focusing on transactional work within the Corporate Midlands team. This role is for an experienced lawyer aiming for partnership, who will handle a broad range of matters and mentor junior associates.

What you'll do

Handle and support others on a broad range of matters including mergers & acquisitions, private equity investments, exits and portfolio instructions, equity capital markets transactions, joint ventures and reorganisations
Take ownership of matters
Work closely with a partner on more complex and / or high value work
Mentor junior members of the team
Strengthen our relationship with existing clients
Actively engage in new business / cross selling services within Gateley

What we're looking for

At least 5 years' PQE

Experience of a broad range of corporate matters

Demonstrable legal technical ability

Confidence to offer commercial advice in a well-reasoned and competent manner

Ability to effectively manage colleague and client relationships

Ability and willingness to learn

Commercial acumen

Good negotiation skills

Personable and dynamic personality with drive to succeed and develop

Passion for working collaboratively

Experience in managing or being keen to manage transactions

Potential to become a partner· nice to have

Keenness to network and build connections in the local corporate finance market· nice to have
