Private Client Senior Associate 6+ PQE

The role

Fladgate is seeking a Private Client Senior Associate with 6+ years of PQE to join its Wealth Management team in London. The role involves providing comprehensive advice on tax and private client matters to HNW and UHNW individuals.

What you'll do

• Provide an excellent service to clients, through solution-based advice, inspiring trust and confidence and by being actively engaged in clients’ issues
• Advise clients on a broad range of tax and private client matters
• Support partners and other fees earners in the Private Client team
• Regularly work alongside fee earners in the Private Wealth, Property, Corporate and Dispute Resolution departments
• Draft tailored tax advice and planning solutions for clients, both UK and international
• Implement advice for clients, including liaising where necessary with other departments and overseas tax/legal counsel
• Manage day to day client files from inception of a matter to completion, including scoping and quoting for new matters, keeping clients updated as a matter progresses and billing
• Liaise with intermediaries on behalf of clients including bankers, financial advisers and trustees
• Manage HMRC enquiries and disclosures
• Advise on founder/management equity, employment related securities, and incentive arrangements
• Draft bespoke deeds, agreements and Wills
• Research discrete areas of tax and trusts law
• Support the Private Wealth, Real Estate, Corporate, Litigation and Finance departments with advice needed by their HNW/UHNW clients
• Deal directly with clients and take primary responsibility for cases or specific tasks
• Take work from a number of Partners and Associates and manage workload
• Lead workstreams on multi-disciplinary matters with Private Wealth, Corporate, Real Estate, Finance and Disputes teams
• Draft all documentation observing house style
• Meet all financial targets
• Assist in Business Development and Marketing initiatives
• Supervise junior members of the department including Paralegals and Trainees where required
• Keep up to date with developments in the law, attending training sessions (internal and external) and contributing to department training initiatives
• Maintain a working knowledge of corporate tax concepts relevant to owner managed and privately held businesses
