The role
Reed Smith is seeking a mid-level Associate to join their Energy and Natural Resources group in Pittsburgh. The role requires 3-5 years of experience, with a focus on oil and gas litigation, and familiarity with the Appalachian Basin industry.
What you'll do
- Draft preliminary and dispositive motions
- Draft discovery responses
- Handle document review and production projects
- Assist in deposition preparation
- Move towards running own matters
What we're looking for
Three to five years of experience in oil and gas litigation
Familiarity with the basics of oil and gas law and the oil and gas industry in the Appalachian Basin
Ability to draft preliminary and dispositive motions and discovery responses
Ability to handle various sizes of document review and production projects
Ability to assist in deposition preparation (both offensively and defensively)
Active member of the Pennsylvania bar, or eligible to waive into Pennsylvania or sit for the Pennsylvania bar
Some exposure to environmental and regulatory litigation preferred· nice to have
