The role
Our Chambers Band 1 TMT practice is seeking a Senior Associate or Associate to join our national team in Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne. This role is for a cyber, data and AI law specialist who will advise on cyber preparedness, incident response, complex data matters, AI governance, and regulatory investigations. You will work collaboratively to help clients navigate evolving digital risks and technologies.
What you'll do
Advise on cyber preparedness and incident response
Advise on complex data matters (advisory and transactional)
Advise on the design and rollout of data and AI governance frameworks
Advise on regulatory investigations and enforcement action
Work collaboratively with practices across the firm to help clients in all sectors navigate the evolving regulatory and threat landscape
Advise executive teams and boards on legal issues associated with emerging digital risks and technologies
Help to shape our evolving regulatory landscape
What we're looking for
Experience advising on cyber preparedness

Experience advising on complex data, privacy, spam and surveillance matters
Experience advising on regulatory investigations
Experience advising on AI governance and transactions
Experience with compliance with Australian cyber and privacy laws
Strong technical expertise
Strong academics
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Willingness to build an understanding of clients and develop effective working relationships
Ability to manage large matters and multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
Ability to lead teams
Proven experience and a willingness to participate in business development activities
A desire to learn, grow, network and mentor others
Experience advising on AI governance and transactions, and compliance with Australian cyber and privacy laws is desirable but not necessary· nice to have
