The role

Womble Bond Dickinson is seeking a Senior Planning Lawyer with 8+ years of experience to join their highly regarded Planning team in Edinburgh, Scotland. This role focuses on a wide range of complex planning, infrastructure, and environmental work for major developments.

What you'll do

Work on large scale development consent orders
Work on compulsory acquisitions
Give strategic planning advice
Review environmental statements
Assist with project management
Support the national real estate practice

What we're looking for

Legal qualification with 8+ years post admission experience gained within a planning team

Strong experience in planning, infrastructure, and environmental work

Experience of and able to lead on complex planning agreements

Experience of highway agreements

Ability to handle inquiries/examinations and judicial reviews relating to planning matters

Experience managing & supervising more junior members of the team

Knowledge and experience of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA)

Knowledge of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990· nice to have

Some knowledge or the Planning Act 2008 is desirable· nice to have

Experience of compulsory acquisition is also desirable· nice to have
