Senior / Principal Associate - Projects & Infrastructure (Birmingham) at Gowling WLG

The role

This role is for a Senior / Principal Associate to join the Projects & Infrastructure team in Birmingham. The position focuses on supporting the firm's extensive portfolio of domestic government project work and energy and infrastructure project development in the UK. The role is suitable for lawyers with private practice or in-house experience, particularly those with commercial contracts competence and an interest in government or specific sectors like nuclear or defence.

What you'll do

Advise on a range of UK domestic energy, infrastructure and defence projects
Advise government clients and sponsors/developers on all aspects of project development from procurement, through the project contract and construction and operation arrangements

What we're looking for

Minimum 4 years PQE

Experience of advising on project agreements, including some or all of: PPP/PFI, PPAs, EPC contracts and O&M Agreements

Project management skills

A willingness to get involved in business development

Experience of UK public procurements (PCR) and running competitive procurements· nice to have

Experience of negotiating contracts in a single source environment (SSCR)· nice to have

Government and / or nuclear sector experience (including in-house)· nice to have
