The role

We are seeking an experienced Principal Associate with at least 6 PQE to join our Housing Development and Regeneration (HDR) team in Leeds. This role is ideal for a residential lawyer looking to develop their career, providing specialist advice on residential development, title due diligence, and land acquisition, while also supervising junior staff and contributing to business growth.

What you'll do

Provide cutting edge specialist advice on all aspects of residential development and housing led work
Develop and maintain strong client relationships
Become immersed in the residential development market
Manage title due diligence
Manage land acquisition (both short and long term)
Manage nuanced elements of residential development work
Lead on complex transactions
Supervise and develop junior staff
Coordinate multi specialist teams
Prioritise workload effectively
Support colleagues
Implement instructions swiftly and accurately
Engage in business development and marketing
Assist on tenders to prospective clients
Take part in pitch teams
Take responsibility for management functions and projects

What we're looking for

Principal Associate level experience (6 PQE)

Strong technical skills in residential law

Commercial awareness

Ability to manage own caseload to tight deadlines

Ability to work in a team environment

Ability to supervise and develop junior colleagues

Ability to give clear, practical advice with sound commercial judgment

Ability to negotiate effectively and deliver commercial solutions

Ability to communicate appropriately at all levels

Ability to work closely and collaboratively with team members, clients, and other professionals

Ability to contribute to business development and marketing

Ability to assist on tenders to prospective clients

Ability to take responsibility for management functions and projects
