Associate / Senior Associate – Leveraged Finance – 4pqe + at Mayer Brown

The role

Mayer Brown is seeking a Leveraged Finance Associate with 4 PQE+ to join their London Banking and Finance practice. This role is for a qualified Solicitor who will advise on complex, high-value, often cross-border financing transactions for a variety of clients including private equity sponsors and lenders.

What you'll do

Advise on leveraged and acquisition finance transactions for sponsors and lenders
Draft and negotiate credit agreements, security documents, and intercreditor agreements
Manage transactions from inception to closing, ensuring timely delivery and client satisfaction
Collaborate with colleagues across global offices on multi-jurisdictional matters
Maintain strong client relationships and contribute to business development initiatives

What we're looking for

Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales)

At least 4 years PQE

Prior Leveraged Finance experience is essential

Experience in advising on cross border matters

Degree certificate(s) from a reputed institution, achieving a minimum grade of 2:1 or equivalent

Experience from a highly ranked practice or team· nice to have

Strong technical skills with experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating documentation· nice to have

Working as part of a team and taking an active part in sharing knowledge and experience with the team· nice to have

Excellent people skills and a good, clear communication style· nice to have

Ability to work effectively within an established, close-knit team· nice to have

Be a self-starter, and be willing to be challenged by taking on work outside their comfort zone· nice to have

Demonstrate ability to confidently interact with clients and develop business pro-actively· nice to have
