The role
Holland & Knight LLP is seeking a mid-level associate with 2-5 years of experience for its Corporate, M&A, and Securities Practice in Portland, Oregon. The role focuses on representing public and private companies, investors, and funds in corporate matters, including M&A, venture capital financings, commercial transactions, corporate governance, and securities.
What you'll do
- Represent public and private companies, investors, private equity funds, venture capital funds, founders, and/or emerging growth companies in a variety of corporate matters
- Handle mergers and acquisitions
- Handle venture capital financings
- Handle other commercial and strategic transactions
- Handle corporate governance and securities matters
- Draft acquisition agreements and related transaction documentation
What we're looking for
2-5 years of experience representing public and private companies, investors, private equity funds, venture capital funds, founders, and/or emerging growth companies
Experience in mergers and acquisitions, venture capital financings, and other commercial and strategic transactions
Experience in corporate governance and securities matters
Strong working knowledge of acquisition agreements and related transaction documentation
Experience drafting acquisition agreements and related transaction documentation
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
High degree of maturity and business sense
Ability to effectively manage internal and external client relationships
Excellent academic credentials
Experience working in a sophisticated law firm environment
Experience in one or more of the following areas: mergers and acquisitions, venture capital financings, other commercial and strategic transactions, corporate governance, and securities matters· nice to have
