The role

An opportunity for a Lawyer or Associate to join the General Insurance team in Perth, focusing on advising on the defence of general liability claims in casualty, property damage, and product liability. This hands-on role offers development and progression opportunities, supporting insurers, reinsurers, and corporates.

What you'll do

Review documents and prepare evidence
Draft correspondence to the Court and third parties
Confer with witnesses and prepare witness statements
Prepare briefs for Counsel
Draft Court documents and attend Court
Draft client advices
Draft letters of instruction to experts
Supervise and mentor junior lawyers and other members of the team

What we're looking for

A minimum of 2 years of post-admission experience advising on defendant insurance matters

Experience in personal injury and general liability

Experience in the day-to-day management of files

Experience in running matters through court proceedings

Proactive and able to work autonomously and as part of a team

Excellent technical, analytical and drafting skills with a keen attention to detail

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to organise and prioritise effectively

Candidates from a plaintiff background who are interested in transitioning to defendant work· nice to have
