The role
Cooley is seeking 3rd-6th year associates with at least three years of PQE to join its private companies team. This role focuses on advising disruptive companies and their investors, with a preference for experience in the life sciences sector and venture-backed companies.
What you'll do
- Advise disruptive companies and the investors who fund them
- Counsel venture-backed companies on general corporate matters throughout their growth cycle
- Work with clients that are shaping the life sciences industry
- Build and run a practice
- Participate in speaking engagements
- Contribute to the development of Cooley’s national private companies platform
What we're looking for
3rd-6th year associate
At least three years of substantial experience working with early-stage and growth-stage companies
Experience counseling venture-backed companies on general corporate matters
Experience in the corporate department of a national or international law firm
Experience specifically working with life sciences companies
Strong academic record from a nationally recognized law school
Experience particularly in the life sciences sector· nice to have
Deep experience counseling venture-backed companies on venture capital financings and liquidity events· nice to have
