The role
Cooley is seeking 3rd-6th year associates for its private companies team, focusing on advising disruptive companies and their investors. The role is ideal for associates with at least three years of experience in corporate law, specifically with early-stage and growth-stage life sciences companies.
What you'll do
- Advise disruptive companies and the investors who fund them
- Counsel venture-backed companies on general corporate matters throughout their growth cycle
- Build and run a practice
- Participate in speaking engagements
- Contribute to the development of Cooley’s national private companies platform
What we're looking for
3rd–6th year associate
At least three years of substantial experience working with early-stage and growth-stage companies
Experience counseling venture-backed companies on general corporate matters throughout their growth cycle
Experience in the corporate department of a national or international law firm
Experience working with life sciences companies
Strong academic record from a nationally recognized law school
Experience particularly in the life sciences sector· nice to have
Deep experience counseling venture-backed companies on venture capital financings and liquidity events· nice to have
